“My name is Amanda, and I lived at the Hedge House a year and a half. The Hedge House is a sober living home owned by Jerry and Ryanne Bailey. Their vision for the house is to provide a safe and sober home that is faith based. It provides women with a structured living space where they can begin to rebuild their lives just as I did. The Hedge House provided me with a safe circle of people that I trust and rely on to this day. The guidelines that are put in place at the Hedge House are beneficial to the women for them to reestablish order in their lives. For some women this is paramount in their recovery because their lives in addiction had no order or routine.

The Hedge House attends church and has support from several local churches. The women make service every Sunday faithfully and have established deep roots with the community within the church. We have multiple volunteers who rotate for our weekly meetings, providing us with relationships classes, life skills and the word of God. Many women who come to the Hedge House are broken and beaten down. The church has been extremely welcoming, loving and supportive to these women and their families.

The biggest thing the Hedge House provided for me was restoration with my family. Six years ago, drugs sent my life into a downward spiral that eventually landed me in the custody of DOC. After my release in 2022, I decided to get my life together and do something different. I applied to the Hedge House and was accepted that day. Over the course of the next year and a half, I began to rebuild my relationships with my children and family and established a relationship with God. Here, I learned how to align God’s will with my own and trust that what He has for me is better than anything I could have ever imagined. Today I am proud to say that my relationship with my husband, children, and family has been completely restored and it would have never been possible without the Hedge House.

I recommend the Hedge House to any recovering addict who wants to change their life and have a new beginning. Ryanne and Jerry care about the quality of these women’s well-being. The genuine love and support they give is unmatched and I owe them my life.”
