Beth M.
“Hello, my name is Beth. I am 56 years old. I have three children and two grandchildren. My family are my biggest supporters from day one. My sobriety date is January 24, 2023. I went to the Chickasaw Nation Recovery Center, Nittak Himitta in February 2023, where I learned coping skills, triggers, set short and long term goals, etc. Nittak Himitta found the Hedge House for me to live in after graduating from their program.
I told God, wherever you want me to go, I’ll go, and the Hedge House is where He sent me.
The Hedge House is faith based, Christ based sober living home, and I knew that I was going to need all the help I could get from God. I had three relapses prior and I was bound and determined to get it right this time around, so God had to be the center of my life for me not to end up a statistic of relapse again.
I started my life living at the Hedge House with nothing — a lot of medical appointments, no drivers license, no job, no money. I did not miss an appointment with the help of my family and Hedge House support group. The Hedge House helped me get my drivers license and had a van I could use for transportation. Nittak Himitta paid for my first three months rent to help me do what I could to get on my feet. And that is exactly what I did. I got a job at the laundromat and volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center first, then a job washing dishes at the diner, and faithfully walked to each one until I got my license. I got another job doing home health care on the weekends. I got enough income to set up payment plans in three different counties, so for once I am a law abiding citizen with no warrants for my arrest.
I saved up enough money to get my own vehicle, but God put it on someone’s heart to give me a vehicle, so I now own my own vehicle and pay my own car insurance. I ended up getting hired at Homeland so for two weeks, I had four jobs! I now work at Homeland and home health on the weekends. I have hopes and dreams and goals in my life, and the Hedge house gave me a safe place to accomplish them. I stay focused on God, family, and recovery, and it has paid off and has been worth every day living here. I am living proof of what the Hedge House can do for someone like me, someone with all kinds of obstacles in the way that have now been removed.
The Hedge House has given me my life back with good, healthy boundaries, and has brought my spiritual life with God to where it needs to be. God’s hand is in and on this place and is faithful and just to every lady that decides to live here. The number one thing that God has blessed me with is the total, one hundred percent restoration with my kids, grandkids, and family. I have worked hard to get where I am today and have waited patiently and persevered through hard times. I quit smoking cigarettes, quit vaping, quit cussing like a sailor — all because I am worth it. I am a child of the Most High God and His grace is more than sufficient to me. From my family and myself, I want to say thank you to the Hedge House owners Ryanne and Jerry for helping me get my life back and more. All glory goes to God.
Forever grateful and thankful, Beth.
P.S. God’s ways and timing are perfect.
P.P.S. Listen to Learn and Learn to Listen.”
